A large eight-acre domain in the beautiful Mountain Ranch area north of the Mt. Rigaud skiing mountain. Located between Montreal and Ottawa, the domain includes a large main house  with 22 rooms, including 5 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, 2 solariums, 1 gym and 1 home cinema or movie theatre, a professional tennis course with lighting and sports surfaces (green and red), a large adjacent lot that could eventually house a stable for horses, a large in-ground pool (28’x40′ irr), a jacuzzi for 6 people and a large parking space that can accommodate a 40′ RV (recreational vehicle) and several cars. Built on a hillside, the house has a facing of natural stone cut locally (Carrière Ducharme), of wood and with ornamental gables custom-made by a local artisan.

The house has been intensely remodeled since the purchase in 1992 by the current owners. Several enlargements have been built including a second floor, as well as the addition of the dining room, of the double garage and of the master’s bathroom.

The excellence of the enlargement and remodel design is first and foremost the work of the acclaimed designer Mario Ardonetto. The living surface has thus been nearly doubled!

The warm and welcoming living room is very well lit with its two French doors and large window. The cathedral ceiling is made of cedar of the west and rests on huge beams that cut across the house up into the kitchen. The piano, the antique armoire, the grandfather clock and the leather furniture may be purchased separately.

The main piece of the house is undoubtedly this stone fireplace that was carved on location by local masons. In addition to facing the living room, the back of the piece also faces the kitchen.

The kitchen of pastoral charm was completed in 2010. The antique Heartland oven leans against the huge fireplace from the living room. The floors are of terra cotta and the ceiling is of cedar of the west. This huge kitchen of 250 sq. ft. is very well lit thanks to its light well on the ceiling.

The central kitchen island is made of oiled slats of wood/slate and the back splash is of travertine marble.

The living area is also very well lit as 2 of the 3 external walls were built with French doors.

The dining room is also very well lit and is adjacent to the solarium. The floor is made of slats of oak.

The large solarium is made of wooden beams, is isolated for 4 seasons and the floors are covered of Indian slate. It opens onto the pool area, the large back yard and the tennis court at the end of the yard. A room in which one may happily stay and relax while the kids have fun in the pool.

The stairs leading to the basement and to the second floor are made of wood and wrought iron, with golden medallions completing the latter.

The walls and the floors of the first-floor bathroom are made of travertine marble hammered by the hand of Ciot. The ancient vanity and the antique footed bath complete this first of four full bathrooms.

The library or tea room faces the front yard and the rising sun. This room may also be used as a fifth bedroom. The windows are made of cedar and the blinds are of wooden slats (Sohji-co).

One of the children’s bedrooms is on the ground floor, its future occupant will have fun with the bed with slide sold separately. The bedroom has recently been painted and ojee (???) have recently been installed. The floors are pine slats and the venetian blinds are made of wood.

The large master bedroom is very isolated and private, with two exterior walls. It includes its own private bathroom, a reading corner with fireplace, and a private solarium. The floors are made of dyed oak and terra cotta in the fireplace corner. All the blinds are made of Sohji-co wood.

The master bedroom’s private solarium was built by Zytco. It includes electric blinds with independent control and travertine heating floors. This spot is the perfect one for relaxing and enjoying a cup of coffee!

The master bathroom has recently been completed. The vanity and the bath area’s surface are made of glass mosaic, the floors and the multi-jet shower in the corner of green slate.

The second story is the children’s kingdom. It has a small living room for reading, television or computer, a large bathroom and two very well-lit bedrooms. All the floors are made of tinted pine slats.

The large children’s bathroom is very light. All the walls are made of ceramic. The domain is very private and far from any neighbors, which is why curtains aren’t necessary!

This second-story bedroom is also very light. The large cedar window also has venetian blinds made of Sohji-co wood. Furniture may be sold separately.

The basement is at a garden level, opening onto one of the five terraces. It’s a game room for the kids with a foosball/baby foot and air hockey tables. The floors are made of 12″ pine slats and the far wall has been made into bookshelves. Games sold separately.

The slow-burning Regency fireplace is very efficient and can, with the central ventilation system, heat the majority of the house.

The home theatre is in a completely separate and closed-off room. It has been insulated for sound upon construction for the the comfort of those in the rest of the house. The surround sound system and the projector are included in the selling price.

A full gym is housed in the basement. Devices are an integral part of the house and are included in the price.

The main terrace adjacent to the pool is facing the sunset. Nice for afternoon awaits you.

The backyard of the residence is very private and has a large swimming pool 28 ‘x 40’. Terracing is natural stone and fitted drop near the hammock makes this place a haven of tranquility and relaxation .
